Coronavirus update – Keeping our customers and staff safe

22nd April 2020

Update – April 22, 2020

A few weeks ago, we let you know that we were shutting down all our construction sites due to the Covid-19 pandemic. However, we have spent that time adjusting our set up so that a reduced number of staff can return to work safely and continue creating your new home.

We are reopening our construction sites on Monday 27th and will be adhering to strict protocols in line with site operating procedures (SOP) to protect the safety and wellbeing of our staff, subcontractors and suppliers.

Please be advised that our offices remain closed.

However, we are still here for you!

Our sales advisors and customer care staff are still available and working remotely during normal working hours, to handle all your enquiries, show you how to view our homes online and deal with any emergency aftercare you may need.

If you are an existing customer with any questions and have already legally completed, please contact customer care. If you have not yet legally completed, please contact your sales advisor.

We hope you are all well and staying safe,

Simon Gardiner
Managing Director

Update – March 23, 2020

Peter James Homes is a family, and like any family, caring for each other is our highest priority. We are doing all that we can to ensure the health and safety of our customers and colleagues and assist in containing the spread of COVID-19.

All our staff are currently working from home where possible and are staying in touch via email and video calls.

From Tuesday 24th March our sales teams branches will be closed until further notice and they will be conducting all enquiries and appointments remotely. We’d like to reassure you that we are still on hand to help you through your home buying journey either over the phone or by email. Please visit our development pages for contact details.

We are also closing our building sites in response to Government guidelines announced on 23rd March 2020 to ensure that we are doing all we can, as a business, to help prevent the spread of COVID-19. Our absolute priority will be to carry this out safely and securely, while continuing to support our customers and employees.

We would like to apologise for the inconveniences this may cause. However, we hope you understand that our first priority has to be your safety and that of our employees and contractors. We also believe we have a wider responsibility to the communities within which we work, old and new.

If you are an existing customer and you would like to know more about how this change affects you, please take a look at the guidance below.

As a customer of Peter James Homes, we remain committed to you and, on behalf of all our local teams, we thank you for your support and understanding in these challenging times.

Customers who have purchased a Peter James home but not served notice of completion

We currently have no cases in which your new home is ready to complete as we are still in the construction stage of our new development; Hunters Wood.

Unfortunately, this means, it is inevitable that this will impact on the timing of the delivery and your move in date. We are very sorry for any inconvenience this causes you. We will do our very best to keep you updated throughout and, when it is safe to do so, please be assured we will be back on site building your home to our usual high standard. Our sales teams remain on hand to support you and answer any questions you may have, by telephone or digitally.

Customers living in a Peter James home

While our Customer Care team remains on hand to support you with emergency issues, unfortunately we will now be postponing all non-emergency appointments. All those that had an appointment booked in the coming weeks have been contacted by our Customer Care Manager, and those appointments have been rescheduled. A list of what is defined as an emergency was outlined in the email all residents received from Customer Care.

Peter James Homes, sincerely apologises for the disruption in its duties, and thanks you for your cooperation and patience, at this time. We hope you understand why we have taken these steps and agree that in this environment, it is the responsible thing to do.

We will continue to work together and maintain the spirit that has made Peter James Homes so successful. Be assured that we will come through this stronger than ever.

Wishing you all the best at this time.

Simon Gardiner
Managing Director
